WHAT IS THE ORDER?
What does it mean for each of us to become part of the Order – is it a support to practice or a practice in itself? What characterizes the Order? Is it an institution, or a network of relationships? Why not simply be a Buddhist practitioner? To find our own answers we’ll explore the nature of friendship in the Order, the significance of the private and public ordinations, and the principles behind the Order as the emergence of a deeper principle - the possibility of a community of people working together on the basis of love and wisdom, karuna and prajna.
